NAIL FILE
NAIL FILE
"It may be the influence of old movies but somehow the act of filing nails has left a bad impression on us from long ago. In foreign movies, a man speaking while filing his nails was often the antagonist and it was especially unflattering to see a big man file his nails with a thin and slender nail file. It is this thought which, as a reaction against the image of such a nail file, led us to take a heavy grinding stone that is large enough to hold in one hand and make it into a nail file. Although you may feel some inconvenience, we want a man’s nail file to be this bold. The material used to make this file is an artificial grinding stone made of mineral crystal particles. We found it accidently in the corner of a factory in India and were informed that it is an industrial product to polish stone and marble. There were several different shapes, such as flat, round, bar and others. We decided to choose a big square chunk to be manly. Despite it being a file, the surface has a smooth feel so it can be safely used for nails."
By using recycled materials and hand made processes, PUEBCO imbues these objects with the feel of many lifetimes and a sense of history that makes each piece unique.

Since its founding in Japan in 2007, the brand has operated on the premise that the most interesting materials are those that already have a life behind them. Puebco works with salvaged and reclaimed sources — recycled military tents and clothing, decommissioned mail bags, truck upholstery, and repurposed parachutes — redesigning them into garments, bags, rugs, and home goods and bringing new life to the materials. Items are made in small batches to keep overproduction minimal and each run intentional.
